*PVD is a coating with a thickness of 0.2 – 0.3µm and is used to improve hardness, durability and corrosion protection. PVD-coated brass and stainless steel surfaces achieve better values than chrome plating in color in terms of hardness and corrosion protection.

The main advantages of a PVD coating are, in addition to an attractive appearance, e.g. in gold and an infinite number of effects and color shades, the improvement in hardness and durability. In addition, corrosion protection and scratch resistance are improved. Basically, it should be said that PVD coatings also turn out differently on different substrates. For example, a PVD coating on chrome tends to be shiny, whereas on brushed stainless steel it will appear matt.
